"Revisited Brideshead is no match for TV ancestor"-The London Evening Standard
One of my favourite TV classics is Brideshead Revisited (1981). Set at Castle Howard and based on the novel by Evelyn Waugh. The novel was adapted into a TV series by John Mortimer, Derek Granger and Charles Sturridge in the 80s and was faithful to the original storyline of the book. They did not rush anything or add in their own plots (which happens so often with book adaptations), but stayed true to the novel. I feel Mortimer, Granger and Sturridge's efforts really paid off and with the help of a wonderful cast (Jeremy Irons, Diana Quick and Anthony Andrews) they created a TV gem.If you haven't already seen Brideshead Revisited, I thoroughly recommend it!
